INFANT CARE PROGRAMS

Our Hummingbird Program cares for newborns and infants up to 18 months of age.
Your little one will thrive in a safe and engaging environment provided by a team of trained staff who have also met our selective requirements.

Our Dragonfly Program provides care for children 18 to 36 months of age.
This is a period of tremendous learning about one’s self and one’s interaction with the world around them. As they take their first steps and utter their first recognizable words, our knowledgeable and encouraging staff will be there to ensure their safety and boost their confidence.

Our Butterfly Program provides care for children 24 to 36 months of age.
The natural, balanced classroom offers your child a space to explore their curiosities and discover the world around them. Butterflies will be given opportunity to grow in their self-help skills, learn routines and have longer small group times.

Our minimum staffing ratio is one to four, ensuring that each child is closely supervised at all times, and provided with one-on-one care as needed.

Hummingbird Program

The Hummingbird Program goes far beyond basic physical care, offering comfort, nurturing, and safe exploration for curious little minds. We actively seek to recognize and acknowledge each child’s unique personality and path of development, allowing us to provide a wide range of appropriate sensory and social experiences. Our daily schedule includes story books, music, individual and group play, and outdoor time in our playground specifically designed for infants and toddlers.

According to the First Nations of the West Coast, Hummingbirds are joyful messengers, who love to wander and seek the beauty in the world around them. We value infants and see them as unique individuals who require a safe and supportive environment for their growing personalities. Our natural, balanced classroom offers your infant a space to explore their curiosities and discover the world around them. We recognize each child’s unique path of learning, knowing that all infants develop skills at their own time of readiness. They will receive a wide range of materials, textures, sounds and engage with others in small group settings. Each infant’s daily needs are acknowledged and met, while they enjoy and express themselves through daily play experiences.

Dragonfly Program

Our daily schedule offers your child the opportunity to develop new skills, at their own pace, through a variety of enjoyable individual and group activities, including music and dance, story time, artistic endeavours, and time outdoors at our playground designed specifically for young ones. A staffing ratio of one to four, ensures sufficient staff to chase our little dragonflies around when necessary, to provide basic care and a nurturing hug.

According to the First Nations of the West Coast, Dragonflies are active and full of energy, offering new and exciting ideas. We value toddlers and see them as unique individuals who require a safe and supportive environment for their growing personalities. Actively playing and creating, using all their senses (for example open ended art), they are building on their knowledge needed for learning new skills in the next stage of life. Play in a nature-based environment is more creative and imaginative which encourages language and improved cognitive development. Social awareness is built upon by putting names to emotions, working together with peers, using songs, and stories to illustrate/demonstrate positive relationships. Bursting with new ideas and sharing excitement for daily activities, we can’t wait to meet our busy little dragonflies!
